Time Change, Setup, and Other Notes on Christopher & Emma's Wedding (August 1st, 2020)

Last Updated 12/16/2021Posted in Wedding

Hello precious family and friends!

Our wedding day is fast approaching and we could not be more excited to have you all bear witness to the official beginning of our lives together <3

We are putting together the final details of the big day which includes making some announcements to our guests.

First off, please make note that we are changing the time to 6pm to avoid some heat - it will cool down beautifully as the evening goes on :)

Secondly, we wanted to share with you some photos of the venue and our plans for the wedding...

The Ceremony

The ceremony will take place in a field under two beautiful trees (read shade ;)).

When you arrive, you will be greeted, asked to sign our wedding board, help yourself to a cold drink, and set your things down at your table.

Once everyone has arrived, you will join us and our wedding party down under the trees for a brief ceremony - we will also be doing a live video for those unable to attend in person.

The Reception

After the ceremony, we will all make our way back up to the beautiful red barn (which is open-air and a little over 1/2 an acre large) for dinner - burrito or salad lunch boxes from Dos Coyotes (beans and rice available on the side).

We'll have some games (corn hole, giant jenga, etc.), a photo area, and a little dance area for you to enjoy throughout the evening.

Note

  • There is TONS of room to spread out as you are comfortable.
  • We're assigning seating, so please be sure to see your name/family's name at your table.
  • We will have hand sanitizer available at all tables.
  • Those serving the food will be gloved and wearing face masks.
  • Wear a mask or don't. We are outside in a large space with lots of room...did I mention there's lots of room? ;)

A Note About Our Wedding

This is an incredibly joyous time for us that has been a long time coming, but I'd be remiss if I said it wasn't without it's challenges and disappointments. Like everyone else, we never could have pictured this season of our lives being like this - it's been stressful and heartbreaking, to say the least.

So why don't you just postpone?

First off, if we felt we couldn't do our wedding safely, we wouldn't be doing it. Period.

Secondly, no one knows what the future holds, so why should we wait?

I think of this time in history being like the World Wars - people still got married, had babies, start and ran businesses, etc.

The timing is far from perfect, but we must have hope for the future

Life doesn't stop because of a crisis. We must adjust and change our plans, of course, but life continues on and we must make the best of it.

We are grateful to have already planned on having a relatively low-key wedding with just our family and closest friends (it's made planning and making the adjustments needed so much easier).

We wanted an intimate wedding so that we could relax, fully enjoy the day, and have a chance to connect with everyone who comes - how especially true that is now!

(We still plan on having a large reception later on, most likely the first half of 2021 - stay tuned!)

Thank you!

Our heartfelt thanks goes out to everyone who has been helping us get ready for this event, especially our incredibly gracious and generous hosts, the Konrad's, our parents, Aunt Becky & Uncle Larry, and many, many more.

For those who pray, please pray for an overall wonderful day full of cool weather, great health, safety, peace, and incredible joy.

Our desire for our wedding is that everyone is as comfortable as possible and that we are all able to connect, laugh, maybe cry some happy tears, have hope and anticipation of the future, and ultimately celebrate our love and the love we have for each of you and you for us.

Thank you for your love, your support, and being there to celebrate this next season of our lives...

We'll see you all at 6pm on August 1st!

~Emma and Christopher
